Do you ever sit and wonder, “What was I called onto this Earth to truly do and fulfill?” Many people go through life day to day with that feeling of unfulfillment. Discovering your life’s purpose isn’t something that simply happens overnight—it takes lots of patience, persistence, and trial and error.
Eliminating things in your life that don’t make you happy, learning to have a different outlook on situations, and simply remaining positive and resilient through the obstacles of life.
If you are having a hard time trying to discover your life’s purpose, you may want to sit down and ask yourself these five questions.
Discovering Your Life’s Purpose
-
What am I passionate about?
What are some things you find emotionally fulfilling? Things that make you happy and give you that nostalgic feeling of hopefulness? Find those passions and write them down! Making sure you tend to your passions is so important when trying to discover your life’s purpose. Most of the time, your passions in life become your purpose.

If I didn’t have a full-time job, how would I utilize my free time?
Having a full-time job can take up a lot of your time during the week, so once the weekend rolls around—you don’t want to do anything except for rest. Pretend for a moment that you somehow no longer had to work a full-time job, how would you go about utilizing that free time? Where would you go? Who would you spend it with? Would you focus on your passions and craft?
Having unlimited free time encourages many people to fulfill that time with something productive and rewarding. Come up with a list of things you would do with your free time, and try to incorporate it on your next off day.
-
What type of conversations do I have with my friends and family?
Having a meaningful conversation with your family and friends could be that spark that is ignited within you to help you discover your life’s purpose. If you realize when you’re talking with your family and friends you tend to hone in on one particular subject matter—this could potentially be an indicator of your life’s purpose. If your friends see you as a valuable source on a certain topic, this could also be looked at as something that you may be good at, and may have not even realized until you had the conversation with them.

What are some things on my bucket list that I would like to accomplish?
Bucket lists are extremely relevant when trying to discover your life’s purpose. A bucket list can be seen as a list of things you deem as rewarding or important for your overall growth. It’s almost like a list of things you want to accomplish before you no longer have the opportunity to do so. Creating this list is a good way to discover your purpose in life, as it shows you certain activities and goals in life that you deem as important and fulfilling.

How can I make my dreams, my reality?
