Hey Girl Hey!
Let us first say this—if you weren’t at this year’s 2019 Boss Women of the Year Summit—sis, you truly missed out on an unforgettable, black girl magic, interactive experience!
We connected with over 500 women from all over the country—women who were corporate queens, entrepreneurs, and bad ass boss moms. We gained tools and insights from the 2019 Boss Women panelist, which of course included Massy Arias, LeToya Luckett, Jade Kendle, Dayna Bolden, Destiny Green, Lady Jade, Tanya Sam, Amy Witherite, Beatrice Dixon and Ahyiana Angel to name a few.
Did we also mention that we gave away $5,000 and $2,500 in our first small business, big dreams pitch competition?! We know what you’re thinking—this event was absolutely phenomenal, inspirational, and motivational and I’m dying to know the tea on the absolute best moments from the entire night. Don’t worry sis, we’ve got you covered!
Check out 8 of the best moments from Boss Women of the Year’s 2019 Summit!
Moment 1: Pop-Up Shop Galore
Our Boss Women got to fill their swag bags with $500 worth of FREE products from Crème of Nature, Sally Beauty, The Honey Pot Co., Eden Body Works, and Covergirl. Each attendee was given a boss bag that read, “I am a QUEEN” and loaded their bags with items from our pop-up shop! Who doesn’t like free products?!
Moment 2: Dallas’ Very Own Lady Jade Kills it as this Year’s Emcee
Simply stated—Lady Jade rocked the mic and got the crowd on their feet, per usual. Lady Jade kicked this year’s Boss Women of the Year Summit off with the ultimate 90’s throwbacks, including Bills, Bills, Bills, which featured boss mom panelist LeToya Luckett. If there’s one thing Jade is a master at, it’s getting the crowd hyped and bringing the ultimate momentum, and that’s exactly what she did at this year’s summit.
Moment 3: Sally Beauty Beat Faces at Our Glam Stations and Beauty Bar
The panelist weren’t the only ones in the building with a face beat to the gawds honey—our attendees were also given mini makeovers and on the spot touchups while sipping cocktails and mingling with other boss women.
Moment 4: Best Revenge is Yo’ Paper
Queen Bee said it best, and we couldn’t agree more! Our Making Money Moves activation had our boss attendees looking like money. From confetti to dollar bills with Michelle Obama, Oprah, and Beyoncé’s faces on them—we truly stole the show with this one!
Moment 5: American Idol had Nothing On Our Crowd of Boss Women + Cocktails Presented by Park Place
Our boss women truly sang their hearts out to all the early 90’s and 2000’s jams at this year’s event. From Mary J. Blige’s “I’m Goin’ Down,” to Destiny Child’s “Say My Name,” they did not skip a beat in keeping the soulful experience alive at Boss Women of the Year. All while you sipped on the best cocktails in town presented by Park Place.
Moment 6: Power Pair Activation
Each attendee of Boss Women of the Year received a power pair card, and used it to connect with a woman in the event. They were able to network and exchange contact information with hopes of building a relationship that furthered the four walls of the room. Because sis—entrepreneurship is not a one man band—lean on your sisters for support!
Moment 7: Speaker Dinner
We created an exclusive speaker dinner for our panelist in which they had the opportunity to mingle with the women they’d be sharing the stage with. Catered by Chef Jolie from Low Country Quisine, we sipped rum peach tea and connected with women from all different backgrounds.
Moment 8: The Panel was Full of #BlackGirlMagic
This year’s speaker’s panel contained some of the most bad ass boss women! We featured Massy Arias as the keynote speaker, Jade Kendle, Ahyiana Angel, Destiny Green, Tanika Cabral, Dayna Bolden, Mia Lawrence, Adaobi Gwacham, Beatrice Dixon, Jeannae Rouzan-Clay, Kyana Bascomb, LeToya Luckett, Tanya Sam, Lady Jade, and Amy Witherite. These women brought the ultimate momentum and gave some honest and encouraging feedback when it comes to being a corporate queen, entrepreneur, or even a new mom. Each panelist killed it and gave us all some valuable gems to take with us.
OK look, so if our 10 reasons on why you should attend Boss Women of the Year weren’t convincing enough, then maybe these 8 moments from this year’s event have convinced you that if you weren’t in the building this year—you definitely will be next year!
