Is Hustle Culture Helpful or Harmful?

There’s a trap out there that many of us have began to fall for and the worst part about it– we don’t even realize it. It’s cost us so many valuable moments in our lives that we can no longer get back, those cherished times and trust us when we say, it’s been mentally, emotionally and even spiritually draining. What is it you ask? It’s, hustle culture.

As an entrepreneur, what do you do when you feel as if you’ve hit rock bottom and you’re afraid to ask for help? Do you “cave in” and get the help you need or do you continue to work at it until you’ve driven yourself into the ground? As entrepreneurs, we’ve all felt this feeling at one point or another, however if you’re tired of falling victim to hustle culture– here are 3 things to remember.

How Harmful is Hustle Culture?

1. Always remain intentional about your content

Sometimes, it can be difficult to train your mind not to seek validation in social media, however we all know just how tough that can be. Keep in mind, you don’t have to post every single day to remain relevant and impactful. Focus on creating intentional content that breeds quality and represents what it means to be intentional.

2. Create an easier business model

The moment you figure out how to create an easier business model, the moment your business will begin to grow. You don’t want your business to be the reason you experience burnout. As an entrepreneur, you don’t have to do every single thing by yourself, learn your strengths and lend your weakness to those that are stronger in that said trade. Success breeds when you build your business to work for you, not against you.

3. Practice what you preach

Rule of thumb, if you say you don’t want to experience quick burnout, then practice just that. Expand your business through contracting workers, learn how to take days off and indulge in self-care because you can’t pour from an empty cup. If you’re full, your business will remain full too.
