5 Realistic New Year’s Resolutions for 2022

Establishing a Workout Routine

So you’ve told yourself you want to whip your body into shape this new year? Simply begin by changing your mindset—exercising should be looked at as a moment of me time in which you focus on making yourself a better you. A good workout routine is also a great source of energy and will help you with things such as better sleep patterns, and other health benefits.

One important factor of working out is to try things you enjoy and focus on certain core areas that you truly want to improve. Whatever they may look like for you—spin classes, running on the treadmill, or lifting weights—get into that routine and stick to it!

Checking on Your Strong Friends

You may think that your friendships don’t need a boost or are completely effortless and can maintain themselves—however that’s not realistic or even somewhat true. Make the mindful decision to reconnect and simply check on your friends—even the strong ones who may seem like they have it all together. Life does get busy and a lot happens at once, but you have to stop, and fit those that are important to you into your schedule as well.

In this digitally-driven world we live in, it’s extremely easy to end up with several virtual friends and no real-life ones, however making the effort for those genuine and personable interactions makes all the difference in your wellbeing.

Redefining Your Inspiration

When you begin to feel like you’re losing your direction in life, reclaim and redefine the things that inspire and motivate you! What are you passionate about? What gives you the motivation to simply want to do and be great? Plan out goals that are achievable and realistic and ways that you can attain those goals.

Decluttering your Clutter

Many of us have spots in our homes that could use a little TLC. While we may not be aware of how impacting these cluttered areas are, they could subconsciously impact our mental health. One of the main things you can declutter from your home is paper—old magazines and newspapers, files, bills, advertisements, and so much more. You may not realize it, but piles and piles of paper causes micro-distractions which can ultimately lead to lower productivity and lack of concentration.

If you think about it, everything that requires paper can be replaced with a digital format—magazines, books, bills, literally any and everything! Take some time to tackle any build-up of paperwork in your home, and watch not only your space look and feel clearer, but your mind as well.

Designating your Downtime

Being  busy can be a good thing, however being busy doing absolutely nothing can sometimes be an even better thing. Making time to recharge and get your mental back in check after a long week is just as important if not, more important than being busy with the daily duties of life itself.

Disconnect every once in a while, and make sure you’re using your downtime to do things that make YOU happy. Read a book, meditate, grab a cup of coffee or simply take a nap. Whatever it is that you decide, you want to make sure it’s beneficial to your wellbeing and the betterment of you as you ring in 2022!
