4 Ways to Build Self-Confidence and Get the Most Out of Life

Trying to find the time and ways to build your self-confidence can be an extremely tough task. We’re constantly being exposed to millions of people, celebrities, entertainers, and so much more who portray a sense of confidence and aren’t afraid to be their organic selves—however, there are just as many people (if not more) that are the complete opposite.

1. Take Care of Yourself

I know, how hard can this actually be—BUT, you’d be surprised as to how many people are unable to grasp this simple yet important concept. Taking care of yourself is the key to doing anything well in life—whether that’s building self-confidence or simply trying to live a healthy lifestyle, you’ve got to commit to you! It is true—when you look good, you feel good, but this isn’t just physical. Mentally, spiritually, emotionally, and physically—you should be taking care of yourself. Whatever that may look like, like Nike– just do it!

2. Do What Makes YOU Happy

Life is way too short to continuously put other’s happiness before your own. Learning how to be assertive in telling people what you do or do not like will lift so much weight off of your shoulders. Pleasing others just for the sake of being liked is so draining and it doesn’t uplift you in any way. Whenever you’re feeling discouraged or unsure about yourself, remember, this is your life, and whatever it takes to make sure you are happy, you have to indulge in. Everything you need is already within you—you just have to find the courage to bring it out!

3. Be Mindful of the Company You Keep

As a woman in the process of building your self-confidence, you should make it your duty to surround yourself with a positive group of friends. People who are also motivating and supportive along your journey of building self-confidence. Good spirits are always great to be around. Eliminate all forms of drama and negativity—these traits and group of people hinder your self-awareness journey, and we definitely don’t need that sis. Remember this, you are who you surround yourself with and birds of a feather flock together, so if you surround yourself with positive people who allow you to grow and don’t feel the need to validate you, then you’re ultimately setting yourself up for success!

4. Make Your Cons Outweigh Your Pros

When you think of yourself, think of all of the positive characteristics and attributes that make you, YOU! Create a list of everything you love about yourself, everything that makes you unique, positive things others say and think about you, and take a moment to stop and realize—you are absolutely everything! Remind yourself of each positive characteristic each day before you start your day off. When you’re feeling low, remember just how many beautiful and positive words describe you and you’ll be sure to smile. The one important power you posses is the fact that there is no one else like YOU, and absolutely no one can take that away from you, which is what makes us all unique in our own way.
