We know that breaking barriers and overcoming challenges as a business owner isn’t easy, but we do know that you can do it with the implantation of these five tips.

In partnership with Creme of Nature, a leading brand in haircare for all hair types, here are our healthy habits for breaking barriers, overcoming challenges and increasing your overall productivity as a Black Woman entrepreneur.

Breaking Barriers: Overcoming Challenges and Thriving as a Black Woman Entrepreneur

  1. Let go of grudges

Holding onto a grudge can harbor lots of ill and negative feelings. Forgiving those that have wronged or harmed you is not only good for them, but it’s even better for you and your business. When you’re deciding to forgive someone and let go of the grudge—it’s solely for you and your well-being. Letting go of that grudge doesn’t mean you’re excusing their actions or even letting them back into your space, it means you’ve decided to let go of the pain and move forward with a brighter and healthier future.

2. Let go of comparisons

Comparison is the thief of joy. When you allow yourself to be compared to others—you are ultimately setting yourself up for failure. Learn how to bask in your awesomeness and appreciate everything that is you. When you compare what you have to others, you will always be dissatisfied, so remember “the grass isn’t always greener on the other side, but rather where you water it.”

3. Let go of your pride

Pride can be a good thing however when it becomes extreme and is used negatively—that’s when it’s time to let it go! If you allow your pride to get the best of you, you may breed about other negative traits that won’t allow you to grow and learn. Pride is very powerful and can destroy relationships, so before you allow it to get to that point—let it go in order to thrive as a successful entrepreneur.

4. Let go of fear

Fear is a scary thing for us all. It brings about change and uncertainty of the unknown and it often tests our character. Being afraid—whether it’s afraid of failing, afraid of change or even afraid of success, you must let that feeling go. You never know what you may be capable of achieving if you remove that feeling of fear from your life and simply take a chance.

Incorporating these four tips are just a few ways you can break barriers and overcome challenges as a Black Woman entrepreneur.
