Here’s What Went Down Week 1 of Home Hustlers

Last week we kicked off our 4-week educational digital event series, Home Hustlers where we help business owners and entrepreneurs take their ideas to the next level by equipping them with tools that include weekly virtual panels, workshops and the ultimate pep talks to turn their passion to profit!

Home Hustlers

Week 1 of Home Hustlers was nothing short of amazing as we focused on The Business Plan of finding your “why,” creating your business blueprint and defining your place in the market as well as the internet. The Business Plan panel included: Rachel Roff, CEO of Urban Skin RX,  Beatrice Dixon, CO-Founder and CEO of The Honey Pot Company and Bridgid Coulter, Founder and CEO of Blackbird Collective.

The event began with a mindfulness session with Wellness Coach Elizabeth Nicole Ferguson, where she took our viewers into a meditation journey that allowed them to invite in good energy and positivity before the day officially started. She took them through breathing exercises and allowed them to take the time to explore the depths of their minds as they prepared a ready-to-learn headspace for week 1.

Upon the completion of the mindfulness session, CEO and Founder of Boss Women Media, Marty McDonald began the conversation by sharing with our 1000+ viewers that “as Black Women creating and starting businesses, the market can be so uninviting for us.” If you’re a black woman business owner, then you know just how true this statement is. Being able to find your place within your industry while still trying to grow and elevate your brand can be extremely tough and daunting. As the conversation progressed, Beatrice made sure to make it a point that “all women are connected” and being in collaboration over competition with other women is key to any businesses success.

Towards the ending of the panel, Bridgid let our viewers know that “we’re prepared to change the world, but we can’t do it alone.” As a whole, when we work in unison with one another, the change we can make is more impactful and significant than doing it all by yourself. Of course no Boss Women Media event (digital or in-person) is complete without a dance break from Lady Jade and DJ Tazia Alexa! Our viewers were able to enjoy a 10-minute dance break where they could use that time to get loose and soak in all of the amazing gems! To end Week 1 of Home Hustlers, Marty along with Zach McKinnon dove into the Business Plan workshop where they took our viewers through a step-by-step breakdown of how to create the perfect business plan for their business.
