Meet Courtney Caldwell, Cofounder & COO of ShearShare
Please tell us what your role is and what it entails?
I’m the Cofounder & COO of beauty-tech startup, ShearShare. I am responsible for executing the company’s vision and overseeing operations as we provide the first space-as-a-service mobile app for the beauty and barbering industry.
How did you land this position?
I landed this position when my husband and I decided to launch a tech startup and establish the role. 😉 Transitioning out of corporate America was not easy, but of course we were going to bet on ourselves!
What does your everyday “workday” look like?
Every day is different, but my workday typically starts with meditation, prayer, and movement. Then I move into a 7-minute daily standup with our entire team where my husband and CEO provides encouragement for the team for that day. Next is generally some form of investor relations/management and investor meetings, 1-on-1s with our department leads, HR, payroll, analytics, public relations, and direct user feedback.
What keeps you motivated?
What keeps me motivated everyday is knowing that as we work to keep small businesses open, we are serving as a model of hope for those who come after us.
Who/what inspires your drive as a woman?
My mother inspires my drive as a woman, because she was the first model of female power I ever witnessed. From home to work to church, she is the preeminent example of a Supermom and the best cheerleader!
If you could switch job titles with anyone in the world for one day, who would it be and why?
I’d love to switch job titles with a master healer like yahkiawakened.com. Yoga, meditation, breath work, and homeopathic healing . . . these are my jam! Besides, healing is in my blood. (My dad was a physician of internal medicine in the US Army and an ER doc.)
What do you think is the first word that comes to mind when others describe you? Why?
Exhorter. Many would use this word to describe me because my default is pulling out the best in others. I firmly believe that optimism is a competitive advantage.
Where can our followers connect with you on social media?
